To call Sofie from petal and prickle
just a florist is an understatement. She is more like a stylist, florist,
interior designer and wedding ideas creative. In meeting with Sofie we
shared ideas and came up with the types of flowers that were within my
budget and available that time of the year. We decided on a suitable garland with
Sofie successfully reigning me in from wanting a full fledged flower
headband to a more 

delicate baby’s breath crown and went for a subtle
buttonhole for the boys.

With passion and enthusiasm, I witnessed
her sketch my entire table setting and whiz around finding jars, tea-light
candle holders and vintage doilies that could be borrowed for the nostalgic
look -something that goes beyond being a florist. She knows style, what is in,
what will actually look good and the tiny details that make your heart melt –
like the lace she had sourced to wrap around the flower stems that matched the
girl's dresses perfectly.

On wedding day sitting in the hair
salon, nerves surfacing, the bouquets arrive. Something happened, a feeling of
sheer delight and excitement came over me. They were absolutely breathtaking.
My expectations had been completely surpassed. My table settings, bouquets,
garland headband, isle of rose petals and buttonholes were all so amazing.
These elements were so important to Blanton and I, those beautiful, natural
things around us that brought such life to the occasion.
